Our Doctors

Feeder Creek Veterinary Services is comprised of six dedicated, experienced, and award-winning veterinarians. The team has wide-ranging areas of interest when it comes to animal care, ranging from cattle to exotic pets and equine medicine. Above all, they share one thing in common: a long-term love of animals and the desire to bring the highest level of veterinary care to them.

Dr. DeBruin

Dr. Steve DeBruin

Dr. Steve DeBruin has been helping animals his entire life. Beginning at just nine years of age when he set the broken leg of a bird, being a veterinarian was his passion. Dr. DeBruin received his undergraduate degree and doctorate in veterinary medicine from The Ohio State University. During veterinary school, he raised a herd of forty hogs as well as forty head of beef cattle in order to fund his education. He graduated from The Ohio State School of Veterinary Medicine in 1983. He founded Feeder Creek Veterinary Services, in 1983 with an emphasis on bovine medicine; today, the practice has evolved to treat all species with a state of art veterinary hospital. Dr. DeBruin is also an active member of the agricultural community. Upon graduation, Dr. DeBruin was selected by his professors as the Outstanding Senior Student in Food Animal Medicine. He has also served on Ohio’s long-range planning committee on behalf of both the beef and dairy industries. He has represented Fairfield, Hocking, Licking, and Perry Counties for two and a half terms on the Ohio Cattlemen’s Association board and went on to serve as the Ohio Cattlemen’s Association president. Most beef producers would recognize Dr. DeBruin for his calving demonstrations, which have been presented to over twenty groups throughout the state of Ohio. Dr.DeBruin is a consulting veterinarian on some of the largest dairies in Ohio. He enjoys both the herd reproductive palpation work along with nutritional and health consultation duties. When Dr. DeBruin is not out on farm calls, he enjoys helping dogs with chronic skin conditions return to a normal lifestyle.

Dr. DeBruin has four daughters. In his “free time”, he manages his own operation of stocker calves and finishing steers. His hobbies include white-water rafting, travel, hiking, scuba diving and photography. His favorite white-water rafting trip was in Grand Canyon next time you see him ask him about it.

Dr. DeBruin was inducted into the 2015 OSU Animal Science Hall of Fame on March 27, 2015!

Dr. Biggie

Dr. Ed Biggie

Dr. Ed Biggie decided to become a veterinarian early in life. He grew up in a small coastal town in Maine and always felt the desire to work with animals. Dr. Biggie pursued that desire by attending the University of Maine earning a bachelor of science degree in Animal Science. He attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated with a doctorate in veterinary medicine in 1990. Dr. Biggie worked in a mixed animal practice before coming to Feeder Creek in 1995. Dr. Biggie became a partner of Feeder Creek Veterinary Services 1999. Dr.Biggie is the head surgeon at Feeder Creek Veterinary Services where his main focus is in small animal orthopedics and general surgery. Dr. Biggie has demonstrated the effectiveness of the therapy laser with increase healing times and decrease pain in his orthopedic patients. In addition to his small animal surgical responsibilities he enjoys providing preventative health care to both dog and cats. In large animal practice he has worked extensively on both beef and dairy reproductive management and preventative care. He also enjoys working with goats, sheep, alpacas and llamas. Dr. Biggie has served on the Ohio Animal Health Foundation board and currently serves on the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association board bringing the farm animal perspective to the profession. Dr. Biggie is a member of Ohio Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Bovine Practitioners.

When not at the clinic, Dr. Biggie enjoys the great outdoors, sports photography, woodworking, and spending time with his family and critters.

Dr. Roberts

Dr. Dale Roberts

Dr. Roberts currently lives in Millersport, OH. He will soon be moving to a small farm in Thornville where he plans to start small goat or sheep herd. Dr. Roberts grew up in Columbus spent the past 10 years of his life at The Ohio State University. His undergraduate training is in Zoology and went on to a get masters degree in veterinary public health. While getting his MPH he worked on the OSU swine farms. This swine experience has been very beneficial to Dr. Roberts in clinical practice. Dr.Roberts graduated with his doctorate in veterinary medicine in May of 2013. While in veterinary school, Dr. Roberts worked with veterinarians on some of largest dairies in the United States, located in California. Dr. Roberts enjoys working with all species but especially with beef and dairy cows.

Next time Dr. Roberts is on your farm ask him about this three cats named Jimmy, Uno, and Dos.

Dr. Roberts enjoys spending copious amounts of time in the great outdoors. He enjoys both small and big game hunting. He is also an avid bicyclist and runner having competed in triathlons.

Dr. Dehaan

Dr. Mirella DeHaan

Dr. DeHaan grew up on a dairy farm in The Netherlands and decided early in life that she wanted to be a veterinarian. After finishing veterinary school in The Netherlands (2014), Dr. DeHaan moved to Ohio where her parents run a large dairy farm. That summer, she finished a summer school at the Summer Dairy Institute, which is a six week advanced training program for prospective dairy veterinarians. Dr. DeHaan has a special interest in dairy cows, exotics, and poultry. She actually worked for an exotic animal clinic in Curacao (Caribbean) before she started working for Feeder Creek. When working in the clinic, Dr. DeHaan sees all kinds of animals like poultry, monkeys, raccoons, and reptiles.

Dr. DeHaan currently lives in South Solon with her boyfriend, who is also a veterinarian, her two chihuahuas, five cats, and a small flock of poultry.

Dr. Dehaan’s hobbies are gardening, reading, and enjoying her animals.

Dr. Loveless

Dr. Mike Loveless

Veterinarian

Dr. Loveless has a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine, both from OSU. He began his career at Feeder Creek in 2022. Dr. Loveless grew up with dogs and has a soft spot for beagles and currently has two dogs, Jack and Rosie. He has also worked with exotics and on several farms including a duck farm. Dr. Loveless loves the opportunity to connect with people through their pets and enjoys the different challenges each new day brings in veterinary medicine. He was a proud member of the Ohio State University Marching Band from 2014 to 2017.

We strive to also educate and inform our clients; since it is only through knowledge and understanding that the best possible care and service can be given to you and your pet. Our caring and compassionate team members will treat you as though you are family.

MANAGEMENT

Melanie
Office Manager

Melanie has been with Feeder Creek since November 2022. She has been working in the veterinary field for over 25 years mainly as a veterinary assistant but also as a Patient Care Manager and Assistant Hospital Manager. Melanie was born and raised in West Virginia but spent many years in Tennessee and North Carolina. She is enjoying being in Ohio and feels she’s found her home at Feeder Creek Vet!

BRITANY

Reception Manager

Britany keeps everything at the front desk of Feeder Creek Veterinary Services running smoothly. She grew up around several different animals including dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, snakes, birds and horses. Britany actually trained her horse Swish to do barrel racing. Her and her husband Michael have a daughter, Lily, a lab mix named Lucy, another horse named Chip, and a cat named Diago.

SHAWNEE

Boarding Manager

Shawnee grew up on a farm with horses and has a huge passion for helping animals. She has 4 dogs: Bill, Gabby, T and Ryder; 2 cats: Magnolia and Mouse; 2 horses: Lexi and Jack, and 2 donkeys: Bandito and Eeyore. She hopes to add two more horses soon. Shawnee loves the teamwork and the passion we all have for healing animals. She used to want to be a veterinarian or technician but has found her niche managing our pet boarding service.

FRONT STAFF

ALISSA
Alissa has worked with dogs over the years and owned many different pets but this is her first experience working in the veterinary field. She has a dog named Levi and also a ball python. Alissa enjoys the staff and clients at Feeder Creek Veterinary Services, but especially loves all of the cute pets. She has always wanted to work in the animal medical field and is hoping to expand her knowledge. Alissa was born and raised in New York City and enjoys video games during her free time.
EMILY
Emily is just one of the many smiling faces to greet you when you walk through our doors. Her family includes her daughter Cleo, fiance Jaiden, stepson Zeke and her dog Luna. Emily loves the people she works with and all of the different types of animals she sees here. She enjoys riding horses and caring for chickens.
Reggie

Reggie started working at Feeder Creek in 2023. She has always loved animals and grew up in Ohio owning lots of dogs and pigs. Reggie currently has 3 dogs, Remmy, Reddick, and Duke, who she shares with her partner Aric. This is her first time working in the veterinary field and she loves it. Her favorite things are the clients and the patients.

TECHNICIANS AND ASSISTANTS Leadership

Natalie - Head of Technicians & Assistants

Natalie has been a huge part of Feeder Creek for over 15 years and has an associate degree in science. She lives with her husband Chance and their children Brooks and Olivia, and she considers her co-workers her family as well. Natalie loves taking care of both the pets and their families at Feeder Creek. She has a dog named “Laney” and a cat named “Tator Tot.”

KATE - Floor Lead

Kate has been a familiar face at Feeder Creek Veterinary Services for several years and also graduated with a degree in veterinary technology. She and her husband have 2 children, a cat named Emmy and 2 dogs Daisy and Nala. Kate enjoys helping animals on a daily basis and the new challenges each day brings. She loves the fun work environment at Feeder Creek Veterinary Services and the staff.

TIFFANY - Senior Technician

Registered Veterinary Technician

Tiffany has been with Feeder Creek Veterinary Services for 5 years and also spent 6 ½ years in the military where she helped with military working dogs. She is mother to her son Emmett and also has two great danes, Archie and Jughead, and 2 cats Lilith and Juma who is a beautiful maine coon. Tiffany enjoys being able to see a variety of animals and would like to learn more about large animals, exotics, behavior and nutrition.

TECHNICIANS AND ASSISTANTS

CHLOE

Chloe started her work in this field first by just owning multiple animals and then by working at an animal shelter and showing goats in 4H. She is currently working towards becoming a registered technician and always wants to further her knowledge. Chloe’s favorite thing about this field is helping owners take the best care of their pets. She is married with a 4 ½ year old daughter and also has 3 dogs, 7 cats and a snake.

CHRISTINA
Christina has a degree in veterinary technology. She loves the variety of animals we see, especially the exotics. Christina studied at Columbus State Community College and grew up on a farm with mainly cows. She currently has 2 dogs Thor and Tuff, a lot of cows, 2 horses and 10 donkeys. Christina hopes to continue her work as a veterinary assistant and run the family farm.
SARAH

Registered Veterinary Technician

Sarah is one of our registered veterinary technicians and is also continuing her education in zoology and plans to become a research zoologist and a wildlife rehabilitator. She loves learning and educating others and making a difference in the lives of our clients and patients. Sarah shares her home with 2 dogs, 1 cat 5 birds, 2 turtles and 1 chinchilla. Her favorite thing about Feeder Creek Veterinary Services is how compassionate the staff is which makes it feel like working with family.

KHALI
Khali has been working as a veterinary assistant for 2 years but has spent many years working with animals including bottle raising calves, caring for horses and even managed a horse breeding farm. She is working on becoming a certified veterinary technician and feels much fulfillment from healing pets and soothing worried owners. Khali has a daughter, two dogs and one horse. She loves how Feeder Creek Veterinary Services are family oriented.
EVAN

Evan has been with Feeder Creek Veterinary Services for 3 years and is also an undergraduate student for pre-veterinary medicine at Ohio University. He has 4 dogs, Buster, Rhea, Sammi and Betty and hopes to become a veterinarian in a small practice or a zoo. Evan loves the wonderful doctors and staff here and enjoys the new experiences each day brings.

EMILY
Emily has spent several years working with animals and enjoys specializing in their behaviors. She has a special talent when dealing with nervous or aggressive dogs and loves being able to help with animals who struggle with vet visit anxiety. Emily has 4 dogs and 1 cat. Her favorite thing about Feeder Creek is how much the staff genuinely loves every patient that comes into our clinic. Emily is hoping to learn and work more with exotics.

BOARDING STAFF

KRISTIN

Kristin has been working in this field for 13 years and loves working with all of our boarding patients. She and her husband Joshua are parents to Charlie and their lab mix, Jett. Kristen hopes to be a kennel manager one day and believes our boarding patients should be treated like they’re our own pets.

Becca
Becca has spent a few years working with animals, previously as a groomer and now in our boarding department. She loves the fact that she’s always learning something new at Feeder Creek and all the unique animals she encounters here. Becca has enjoyed working with animals so much that she is considering going to school for veterinary technology. In her spare time, she loves learning about history, specifically World War I and II and Vikings.
